Good tips! Overtourism can be a problem indeed. I would also add to maybe ask a local (surely everyone knows an italian from whichever country they're from). I like your trip plan, however I would not necessarily recommend it. If someone only has 7 days I would suggest to focus on one city and do day-trips around it. Travelling in Italy can be overwhelming, especially with luggage.

You are right, Barbs, my plan is too hard. I've worked with many tourists who did something like that. They were tired. BUT. If they presume they will never turn back in this country, and it's very probably for those who live in America, for example, this plan is perfect.

In case one wants only to change place or to rest — your plan is better. I would have a camp base and would visit something with one-day trips (so as I do when my friends come to visit me in Biella).

:) that makes sense, of course, if it's a once in a lifetime trip I can understand how someone would want to see everything and sacrifice relax for efficiency ! I'm very impressed with your knowledge
