Enjoy Adventure with Great Company
This day showed me how important it is to go for walks in the company of people who have the same spirit of adventure as you.
I have told you many times that I usually take my walks alone. There are several reasons for this choice, but the main reason is that I have health problems. Every climb for me is always a challenge. I am plodding, and know that this fact bothers my companions. When they reached the halfway point and turned back, I could barely continue the climb. I understand their disappointment, and I don't want to be the one who ruins the walk.
My choice doesn't bother me. I feel good walking at my own pace. But there are limitations. Sometimes I'm afraid to do something, to continue, to visit some points.
I think this is wise behavior. When you are alone, the risks increase because if you get into trouble, no one will help you. For this reason, situations of unnecessary danger must be avoided. This is my philosophy.
There are many cases when very experienced people, champions, disappear in the mountains. They can find them again after years and even decades.
A champion mountain runner from the town near me had disappeared while out on his usual training run. They found him in a ravine only last year.
Interestingly, while they searched for him, they found in a hut the remains of another mountain lover. Items he had proved that he had died 50 years earlier. The volunteers checked the announcements of people who disappeared in the mountains 50 years ago and understood who the man found was.
Here, in Italy, there are groups of walking lovers on Facebook, many also follow my profile because, as said, I have to go for walks. So when I know I want to go out tomorrow, for example, I sometimes write in my profile or one of the groups.
Yesterday I was very lucky because a man from one of the groups I’m a member of contacted me. He was free today and wanted to go out, too. Unfortunately, the road where I wanted to go to see the wild peonies was blocked by a landslide, and we chose another direction.
It was a wonderful walk. Lots of flowers. We also made a discovery: the lilies, which were splendid and large, shone with their colors in the sunlight. They looked cultivated. But that's not really possible: it was so far from all the houses!

Thanks to the presence of my companion, we went to the end of the path, where I certainly would not have gone alone. And I would have missed the beauty!
This place, the tip of the path, is the arrival point of the climbers who come there climbing the bare rock face from the village on the foot of the rock. And there were many climbers!

On the way back to the car park, we stopped to take a couple of photos of the beautiful waterfall. Unfortunately, this cannot be seen well because there are too many trees that cover it. But some minutes passed near a waterfall are always good for health.
In short, the lesson of this walk is that you have to go out with friends to fully enjoy the adventure.
