Italy's Culinary Adventures: My First Impressions
When I married an Italian and moved to Italy, I never anticipated that cooking would become an adventure. My husband had simple tastes and preferred a plate of pasta with tomato sauce for lunch.
To be honest, I wasn't a great cook before getting married. Working at a school meant I had a “flexible” schedule, which often resulted in eating whatever was in the fridge or throwing together a quick meal. Besides, I still lived with my parents, and my mother usually took care of the cooking.
